Matar Paneer |
Ingredients:
- Paneer - 200 gms
- Tomatoes - 2 chopped
- Onion - 1 finely chopped
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Green Peas - 1 cup
- Fresh cream - 1/2 cup
- cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- chilly powder - 1 tsp
- coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
- coriander leave paste - 2 tbsp
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- salt and sugar to taste
- few coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Cut the paneer into cubes and soak them in hot salt water for 20 mins.
In the meantime prepare the gravy.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and wait till they splutter and become brown.
Add the chopped onions and stir fry till onions become brownish.
Add the ginger and garlic paste and fry for one more min.
Add the tomatoes and fry them till the tomatoes become mushy. It may take 6-8 mins.
Add turmeric powder, chilly powder and coriander powder.Mix them well and fry for 2 mins.
Add the peas.I have used frozen peas which takes less time to cook.In case you are using fresh green peas then either use boiled one or cook for some more time till they get boiled.
Add 2 cups of water and salt.Let it boil.
Matar Paneer |
Add the paneer pieces in the gravy.
Add coriander leave paste.
Let them cook for 5 mins till you get the desired consistency of the gravy.
Finally add little sugar(1 tsp) and fresh cream.
Sprinkle garam masala powder on top.
Switch off the flame and garnish with some coriander leaves.
